Uttar Pradesh / Chitrakoot : Sampat Pal of Gulabi gang left Congress after not getting ticket, Sonia will keep her word with Rahul

Sampat Pal, upset over not getting ticket from Manikpur seat, has resigned from Congress. Sampat, the commander of Gulabi Gang, has contested from this seat in 2012 and 2017. Ranjana Barati Lal Pandey was given ticket in his place in the by-election. Sampath was confident of getting a ticket in this election, but the party has expressed confidence in Ranjana.

In the year 2012, Congress candidate Sampat Pal stood fourth with 23,003 votes. In 2017, the Manikpur seat went to Congress’s account when the Congress had an alliance with the SP. Congress again fielded Sampath. She came second with 40,524 votes. In the by-elections held in 2019, Congress gave ticket to Ranjana Baratilal Pandey in place of Sampath. Ranjana could get only 8,230 votes. With this, Sampat Pal had full hope of getting a ticket in this election.

No complaint against Sonia, Rahul, state president got ticket cut: Sampath
Upset over not getting the ticket, Sampath resigned from the Congress on Saturday. In a phone conversation, he said that the resignation has been sent to the state office. But Sonia and Sahul will meet Gandhi and make their point. There is no complaint against Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. The state president and supervisor have got his ticket cut. Steps have been taken to resign to convey this message and to save the party from some sycophants. The Gulabi Gang Commander said that she will not join any team yet.

Organization created by organizing women
Sampat Devi Pal of Badosa village in Banda district organized a strong organization called Gulabi Gang by organizing rural women. This pink sari outfit is considered a strong force in Bundelkhand. The organization made many struggles to get women their rights. Sampat Pal, who has won several national and international awards, was arrested during Mayawati’s rule in 2010 for taking law into her own hands.

A film has also been made in Bollywood on the struggle of Sampat Pal. Madhuri Dixit has played the role of Sampat Pal in this film named Gulabi Gang. Sampath also did a small role in the movie Jaako Rakhe Saiyan. She has also participated in the TV show Bigg Boss.
