Uttar Pradesh / Moradabad : Smart electric buses finally started, traveled 17 km for the first time
After the launch of the electric bus, the stopped wheels finally went on a trial run on Sunday. For the first time after the launch, 17 km electric bus ran from Rampur Doraha to Bhatawali. Passengers were also aboard the bus. Due to which there was a ray of hope among the people. On January 4, four buses were inaugurated at the Zilla Panchayat Bhawan.
After this a one-month trial was to begin. But, due to the trial not starting even after ten days, Dainik Jagran published it prominently. In Dainik Jagran’s issue of January 13, 14 and 15, questions were raised on the operation of electric buses continuously, then the departments carrying different responsibilities in the City Transportation Company started blaming each other. When the operation of these buses running under Smart City was crippled due to the stagnation, a bus was run as a trial on Sunday. The bus stopped at its designated stoppage.
Seeing the bus, the eyes of the people wandered. Till Pilikothi, PAC, half the seats were full, but only three to four passengers were seen in Harthala. In fact, under Smart City, the PMI company had to set up charging points in electric bus depots. But, due to non-availability of this charging point, even smart electric buses did not run. At the same time, PMI has not been able to provide conductors yet.
PMI did not provide conductors: Under the contract in smart city scheme, PMI company has to provide conductors. But, she has not been able to provide the conductor yet. Due to which the roadways operated the electric bus with the help of its conductor. Not only this, till now the electricity department has also not made the connection after installing the transformer. Due to which the charging of buses will not be possible. The electric bus was charged from the company itself and came from Gurgaon on the trailer.
Due to which these buses can run only for 120 km as a trial due to charging. Under this, this bus ran on Sunday. If there is no electricity connection, then five buses can be run one by one every day and in case of over charging, they will be parked at the depot.
ARM Shiv Balak told that a bus has been run on Sunday as a trial. Electricity department has assured to make connection soon. The number of buses that are there now, they were already charged from the company. So just run it as a trial. PMI did not even provide conductors. Roadways has taken a trial by running a city bus with its conductor.
