Chhattisgarh / Bilaspur : Corona treatment even after death: Hospital darkness

In Bilaspur, a diabetic patient died due to negligence during the treatment of corona infection. Documents revealed that even after the death of the patient, medicines were provided to them. After this, the Civil Line CSP has written a letter to the Health Department to constitute a team to investigate the matter as a medico legal case. The case is against the Mahadev Hospital management located in Vyapar Vihar.
Vijay Kumar Tiwari (64), a resident of Bhedimuda, Ratanpur, was a retired teacher of the Education Department. His son Prem Prakash Tiwari told that he was a patient of sugar. He had got both doses of the corona vaccine. He started coughing on 26 April 2021 during the second wave of Corona. Then his city scan was done. In this it was feared that he might be corona infected. After this he was admitted to Mahadev Hospital on 27 April.

The hospital management was told that his COVID test was not done and RT-PCR test needed to be done. It is alleged that the hospital management directly started treatment of his corona. During this, he died on May 4 at 7.30 pm. Since then, he has been wandering around collecting documents and complaining. But, till now no action has been taken in this matter.
Untreated sugar
After his father was hospitalized and died, Prem Prakash collected other documents including his treatment slip. He alleges that his father was a sugar patient. Even after this, the hospital management did not give him sugar medicines. Due to this his sugar increased and he went into coma. He has accused his father of being negligent in his treatment.
Keep giving medicines even after death
Prem Prakash also obtained documents from the hospital management under the Right to Information Act. Along with this, he had also taken a photo of the doctor’s file during the treatment of his father. There are many discrepancies in these documents. According to the information given by the hospital management, there is a mention of giving medicines even after the death of the patient.

19 thousand medicines given for free
In the documents collected by Prem Prakash, the hospital management has mentioned to give medicines worth Rs 19 thousand 135 free to the patient. Whereas, the medicines for which the bill has been made for applying in the morning and evening during the hospitalization of the patient. There is a mention of buying it even after the death of the patient. In such a situation, the remaining medicines had to be returned to the patient’s family or the bill had to be cut. But, this has not been done.
According to the guideline, corona is not valid in the city scan test
According to the guidelines issued by the central and state government, corona cannot be confirmed by city scan test. For this RT-PCR test is necessary. But, in this case, the corona has been treated without the patient’s RT-PCR test.
Civil line CSP has written a letter to CMHO to form a team for investigation

Prem Prakash had complained about this matter to the police. Investigation started and his statement was also recorded. When he gathered the documents and presented them as evidence. Seeing this, Civil Line CSP Manjulata Baz was also surprised. Since, this is a medico legal matter and only medical experts can give their opinion after examining the documents available with the complainant. Therefore, along with the complaint, he sent the documents to the CMHO office and recommended to constitute a team for investigation.
