More than 25 Hindu families have threatened to flee the village in Surana village of Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. Hindu families allege that they have been harassed by a particular community for the last two and a half years, due to which they have taken this decision. The threat came after a quarrel between two villagers. The Bilpank police have also registered an FIR against two people in the case. Of these, Mukesh Jat is reportedly the convener of a Hindu organization and the other is Mayur Khan.

Locals said that the families of Jat community, upset over the cross FIR on Mukesh Jat, have written on the walls of their houses that this house is for sale as they are at risk of their safety. The villagers have written that that is why they want to migrate from the village. Mukesh Jat says, ‘They play objectionable music and take out rallies. Because of these women did not feel safe. They are torturing us mentally and when we go to the police station, the police officers do not take any action. On January 16, Mayur Khan came to my house with more than 100 people and abused me. He threatened me and asked me to leave the village.

People of other community abuse us making fun of us: Villagers
Mukesh said, ‘When I lodged an FIR regarding this, the police also registered a case against me. The people of the village do not feel safe. Another villager Omprakash Patel said, “Some members of the Muslim community are harassing us. They make fun of us and abuse us by taking out bikes at high speed. They throw garbage near our houses and spit in front of the houses.

At some other place, villagers demanded land
Earlier a delegation of villagers submitted a memorandum to Collector Kumar Purushottam and demanded that he be provided a place to stay at another place. Additional District Magistrate ML Arya told the media in this regard that Surana’s problem has come to his notice. To solve this, an investigation team will be formed and the investigation will be done and the problem will be resolved through dialogue.

Some people are giving communal color to small talk: Mayur Khan
On the other hand, the people of the Muslim community say that a group of people, especially Mukesh Jat is trying to give communal color to every little thing. Mayur Khan said, “For the last two years Mukesh Jat along with some other people is trying to create communal tension in the village. They lodged at least half a dozen complaints against people from the Muslim community. On January 16 also Mukesh fought with me and later filed a fake complaint against me.

At the same time, after the matter came to light, Home Minister Narottam Mishra took cognizance and said, ‘The matter of exodus of Hindus in Surana village of Ratlam district has come to notice. This is a matter of great concern. We will talk to the district administration for the safety of the victims. Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace and no one can create an atmosphere of fear. Action will be taken against criminals under NSA: SP
In the matter, SP Gaurav Tiwari said, ‘A police post will be set up in the village where 10 policemen will always be present to maintain law and order.’ “There is no history of communal tension in the village, but since the last few months some anti-social elements are creating trouble, so we are also taking action against the criminals under the National Security Act (NSA),” he said. Let us tell you that Surana village population is more than 2200 and 60% are Muslim and 40% are Hindu.

DM-SP talked to the villagers
On the other hand, on Wednesday morning, the DM-SP of Ratlam reached village Surana and discussed one by one with the people and villagers of both the communities. After the discussion, the DM said that a sense of distrust has arisen among the people, it will be removed. “There is encroachment at some place in the village, it will be demolished after checking it,” he said. Prima facie the dispute between two people was given the color of dispute between two communities. It is not acceptable to talk of escape on the basis of normal assault.
