Snowfall in the Sahara Desert, the effect of climate change

The snowfall on the red sand dunes in December 2016 was astonishing. Ain Sefra told people that it was snowing in 2016 for the first time since 1979.

Snowfall has occurred in the Sahara Desert of northwestern Algeria. The temperature has dropped below zero due to snowfall. Snowfall in the Sahara is not entirely shocking as it had snowed in 2021, 2018 and 2017 as well.

But the snowfall on the red sand dunes in December 2016 was surprising. Ain Sefra told people that it was snowing in 2016 for the first time since 1979. People say that many unbelievable things are becoming normal in Sahara. This is nothing less than good news for the children of nearby cities like Meklis. It is the hottest desert in the world, where it is extremely hot.

For the last three nights, the temperature in the city surrounded by the Atlas Mountains has dropped to minus two degrees. But this time the temperature has not dropped much as compared to previous years.
