There has been a revolt in Dwarahat seat after the BJP high command has fielded a young and new face in this election season. The party’s district vice-president, Kailash Bhatt, who has contested in the last two assembly elections, has adopted a rebellious attitude when the ticket is cut. Along with Bhatt, his supporters have declared it to be a gross neglect and have announced to contest as an independent. Since Kailash, a former state councilor, has a good hold in Panchayati politics as well, the organization has come under fire. However, seeing the possibility of rebellion, the district level officials have already put them out of their reach.
The BJP released the first list assembly wise in the afternoon. Shortly after the ticket for Dwarahat seat was fixed, the voices of rebellion in the BJP became vocal. District Vice President of the party, Kailash Bhatt, one of the senior party leaders, was deeply hurt by the distribution of tickets. He accused the party of playing with the sentiments of the workers, accusing him of constant neglect. He said that he was a strong contender for the ticket in the 2012 and 2017 Vis elections also.
