Uttarakhand / Bageshwar : BJP cut the ticket of Balwant Singh Bhoryal, 39 BJP office-bearers resigned from the party

There has been a ruckus after the announcement of BJP’s candidate for Kapkot seat. In Kapkot, 39 BJP office-bearers have resigned from the party. A woman district panchayat member was also among those who resigned. The office-bearers who left the party have accused the party leadership of ignoring the opinion of the workers. The office bearers who left the party are said to be supporters of former MLA Sher Singh Gadhia. BJP has fielded Suresh Gadhia as its candidate by cutting ticket of sitting MLA Balwant Singh Bhoryal in Kapkot. Party office bearers have written in a collective resignation letter sent to BJP state president Madan Kaushik that opinion has been sidelined in ticket distribution in Kapkot seat. Ignoring the opinion of the workers and officials, the ticket has been given. Disappointed by this, he is resigning from the membership of BJP.
Former MLA Sher Singh Gadhia was considered a strong contender for the Kapkot seat. Mahiman Singh Kapkoti, vice-president of BJP’s Kapkot divisional unit, says that the party had consulted on Kapkot seat. Most of the office bearers and workers had given their opinion in favor of Sher Singh Gadhia. The leadership has not done right by ignoring the opinion of the workers.
