Challan of CM Yogi Adityanath’s brother-in-law, Uttarakhand Police took action in fear of breach of peace in elections

The Uttarakhand Police has challaned the brother-in-law of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the possibility of breach of peace in the Uttarakhand Assembly elections. Laxmanjhula Police has challaned Puran Payal, the husband of the real sister of CM Yogi Adityanath.
According to the information, Yogi’s brother-in-law Puran Payal runs a tea shop in Kothar area of Pauri district. Uttarakhand Police felt the threat of breach of peace in the assembly elections. Laxmanjhula police has challaned 8 people under section 107-116 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in the apprehension of breach of peace. One of them is Puran Payal. Its report has been sent to Kotdwar SDM. The SDM has issued a notice to him asking him to furnish a surety of Rs 25,000 and appear in the court along with two sureties of the same amount.

In this case, BJP MLA from Roorkee Pradeep Batra had come to visit Mussoorie with his family. Sub Inspector Neeraj Kathait, posted in Mussoorie Kotwali, had cut the MLA’s challan for not wearing a mask. A video of the incident had also surfaced, in which the MLA was seen throwing 500 rupees of challan and arguing. MLA Pradeep Batra had said in a meeting with Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar that only a part of the video was shown in this case. The MLA had said that the policemen were behaving indecently with the tourists there, when they intervened, the policemen started challaning them on the contrary.
