Sunil Gavaskar advised to drop Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the team, said- Deepak Chahar should get a chance

Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s poor performance against South Africa is under question. Bhuvneshwar’s performance in the first two matches has been disappointing. Bhuvi, who was India’s leading bowler till recently, failed to take wickets in the first two matches. Bhuvneshwar, who has restrained the pace of runs, has proved to be very expensive in both the matches. India lost this series 3-0. He was ruled out of the third match in Cape Town due to his poor performance.
Citing Bhuvneshwar’s poor form, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has asked Deepak Chahar to look at the 31-year-old’s replacement. Having said that the 29-year-old can make a difference in batting down the order.
Gavaskar said during the discussion on Sports Today, “I think now is the time to look at Deepak Chahar. He is a very similar bowler, can swing the ball both ways and can bat down the order.”
That's that from the final ODI. South Africa win by 4 runs and take the series 3-0.

Incidentally, it was Chahar who replaced Bhuvneshwar in the third ODI and almost took India home with his scintillating batting effort. Chahar also took two wickets with the new ball.
Deepak Chahar was included in place of Bhuvneshwar in the third ODI against South Africa. Taking full advantage of the opportunity, he took India to the threshold of victory by scoring a half-century in the third match. He also took wickets with the new ball.
Despite suggesting that Bhuvneshwar has been a tremendous servant of the Indian cricket team, Gavaskar suggested that it is time to look at someone else as the veteran cricketer for long has been struggling to find his rhythm.
He further said, “Bhuvi has been a tremendous servant of Indian cricket. But in the last few years, even in franchise cricket, he has been expensive. He used to bowl those brilliant yorkers and slow pace. But now the opposition is understanding his bowling and they know how to prepare for it. Then maybe it’s time to see someone else.”
