Uttar Pradesh : Former Union Minister RPN Singh left Congress and joined BJP

RPN Singh i.e. Ratanjit Pratap Narayan Singh is a veteran Congress leader. RPN has come a long political way. He was a Union Minister of State in the UPA government and there was a time when the Padrauna Vidhan Sabha of Kushinagar was said to be the stronghold of RPN. He was a three-time MLA from here until he was elected a Lok Sabha MP in 2009. In 2007 too, he won this seat for the Congress. After becoming the MP of RPN in 2009, Swami Prasad Maurya was entered in this seat and he won the by-election.

Congress leader R.P.N. Singh resigned from the party and joined BJP today. He joined the BJP in Delhi and with this he attacked the Congress fiercely. After joining BJP, R.P.N. Singh said- I stayed in a party for 32 years honestly, worked hard with dedication. But the party in which I stayed for so many years is no longer that party, nor is it the thought where I had started. He said that I am ready to make my contribution in nation building under the visionary leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After joining BJP, R.P.N. Singh also said that if the nation has to be built in the country and the country has to move forward, then as a small worker, I will definitely do whatever we can to fulfill the dreams of our Prime Minister Modi. At the same time, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said after his joining BJP that Bharatiya Janata Party RPN. I welcome Singh ji to the Bharatiya Janata Party family. Two other colleagues have also joined the BJP with him, I also welcome him in the party.

Maurya had joined BJP in 2017

Swami Prasad Maurya of BSP won from here in the by-election of Padrauna Assembly held in 2009. In 2012 also Maurya won. Maurya joined the BJP just before the 2017 elections and managed to win from here for the third time. This time again Maurya has changed his side. Now he has joined Samajwadi Party. On the other hand, BJP has also found a new face here in the form of RPN Singh. If BJP brings out RPN Singh from here, then Padrauna’s contest will be very interesting.

What does ethnic math say?

There are 3.48 lakh voters in Padrauna assembly. The maximum is about 84 thousand Muslim voters. After this there are about 76 thousand SC, 52 thousand Brahmin, 48 thousand Yadav voters. Now, if we talk about RPN Singh’s fraternity i.e. Senthwar voters, their number is 46 thousand, while the voters of Swami Prasad Maurya’s Kushwaha caste are about 44 thousand. Meaning the competition is a lot of competition between the two. Here Muslim and Yadav voters will openly vote for SP. There will be a division among the voters of the remaining castes. If Sainthwar supports RPN, then most of the people of Kushwaha-Maurya fraternity will be with Swami Prasad. In such a situation, only SC and Brahmin voters will be in the deciding role. The one who will win these two categories of voters will be able to win Padrauna.

What is the history of Padrauna?

Before Modi wave in 2017, BJP had won from Padrauna in 1991 Ram wave. Baleshwar Yadav of Samajwadi Party won this seat in 1993. Since 1996, the supremacy of Congress leader RPN Singh has been established here. He was an MLA from this seat till 2009. The Congress has not won this seat since RPN won the Lok Sabha elections. In the 2017 election, BJP’s Swami Prasad Maurya got 93649 votes. He defeated Javed Iqbal of BSP by 40552 votes. Shivkumari Devi of Congress was at number three with 41162 votes.
