Uttarakhand / Narendranagar Om Gopal Rawat, leaving the lotus, became the comrade of the hand – now there will be a thorny contest between Subodh Uniyal and Omgopal

Congress has managed to bring down a big wicket of BJP in the turnaround game. Former MLA of Tehri’s Narendra Nagar seat and BJP leader Om Gopal Rawat has joined the Congress on Wednesday evening. Omgopal, who was angry after cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal got the ticket from BJP, had announced to contest the elections at any cost. Congress state captain Ganesh Godiyal got Congress membership of Om Gopal Rawat at the Congress headquarters in Dehradun. Now it is decided that Congress will contest Omgopal from Narendranagar against Subodh Uniyal, although it will be formally announced through the third list.

Om Gopal Rawat was elected MLA from the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal in the year 2007 from Narendra Nagar seat. In 2017, Om Gopal Rawat contested as an independent, but lost the election to Subodh Uniyal of BJP. After Om Gopal Rawat joins the Congress, there is every possibility of a close fight in the Narendra Nagar seat.
