His team was making a map of the radio waves present in the universe, during which they found this mysterious object. Dr Natasha said, ‘During our monitoring, this object sometimes appears and then disappears. This is completely unexpected. Very scary for an astronomer because nothing like this had been seen in space.’

Doctor Natasha said, ‘It is very close to our earth which is only 4000 light years away. It is right behind our galaxy. He said it corresponds to an ‘ultra long period magnetar’. He said that someone expected it to be discovered directly because we had no idea that it would be so bright. This object is converting magnetic energy into radio waves in a very effective way that has not been seen before in any other object. This research is published in the journal Nature.
