Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has held an important meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISI Chief just before his visit to China. According to reports, the tension between the Imran Khan government and the Biden administration of America has increased. In such a situation, Pakistan is now left with the help of China. Imran Khan is now going to Beijing on the pretext of Winter Olympics to persuade China which is fueled by the delay in CPEC.
According to the report of the Pakistani newspaper Express Tribune, Chinese leaders are furious over the delay or no progress in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project. On the other hand, under Imran’s rule, America-Pakistan relations have reached the abyss. Despite all the threats from Pakistan, Biden has not even spoken to Imran since becoming the President. Now only China’s support is left by taking Pakistan. For this reason, Imran Khan is now going to China in the first week of February.
Imran Khan will give clarification to China on CPEC
During this visit, Imran Khan will review the progress of CPEC, major regional and international issues with the top Chinese leadership, the report said. According to official sources, PM Imran Khan will try to convince the Chinese leadership that Pakistan considers the CPEC as the main point of its economic progress and prosperity. Therefore, all efforts will be made to expedite the CPEC.
Progress on CPEC projects is believed to have slowed ever since the Imran Khan-led PTI government came to power in Pakistan. Not only this, after the attack on Chinese engineers working in Dasu Hydro Project in July last year, its pace came to a halt. China made it clear to Pakistan that the safety of Chinese citizens is of paramount importance to it. The Imran Khan government, which is reluctant to give compensation to Chinese citizens, has now agreed to pay a hefty compensation, bowing to the threat of the dragon.
