The police force deployed in the security of the cowshed said that at around 10 pm, the administration had sent 1 truck of straw for the cows, but it was not given to the cows. The straw remained loaded on the truck as the administration had not imposed any duty to look after the cows.

Nirmala Devi has been running the Gaushala for 20 years.

No one appointed to look after
After the death of the cows, the administration took over the rights of the Gaushala, but did not deploy staff to look after them. The cows continued to suffer from hunger and thirst. There was no one to see them. Many cows left the cowshed for food and roamed towards the pond. During this there was no one to stop them. Here the herd of dogs also attacked the cows.
10 acres of government land occupied
This Gaushala of Berasia is on government land. About 10 acres of land has been occupied. Here the fence has been made by fencing the wire. Farmers from nearby villages leave the cattle in the cowshed. For the service of cattle, farmers give a grant of Rs 100-200.

Cow’s service difficult for one and a half rupees
The operator of the gaushala, Nirmala Devi came out around 1.30 pm. He told, ‘For the service of a cow, one and a half rupees are received from the administration. That too in two-three years. In such a situation, it is not possible to serve a cow for such a small amount. Still, I am serving the cows at my level. On keeping the cows under the open sky at night, he said, ‘The administration has kept the cows outside. I had made arrangements for the cows by putting foil for them, which the administration removed.
When there was no food for the cows in the gaushala, she said that she asks for straw every day. Nirmala Devi laughingly said in conversation with Bhaskar, ‘I am the leader of BJP. I have been an active worker for 30 years. I have been block president from BJP. I have also been a market member. Earlier I am known as Mandi Wali and now as Gaushala Wali Madam. 3-4 cows have died due to cold. How much attention do we pay? Foil (polythene) causes death. I am an elderly lady. I am being harassed. Those who are making allegations are our opponents. We have 400 cows. Most of the cows belong to farmers.
