World’s third largest cricket stadium going to be built in Jaipur, will cost ₹ 650 crore

The world’s third largest cricket stadium is going to be built in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. On Saturday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly laid the foundation stone for the construction works of this international cricket stadium through a virtual program. BCCI secretary Jay Shah was also present in this virtual event. This cricket stadium, which will be built at a cost of about Rs 650 crore, will have a seating capacity of 75,000 spectators. This stadium is being built in Champ village of Jaipur.
On the occasion of the foundation stone of the stadium, Ashok Gehlot said, “The then President of Rajasthan Cricket Association, Dr. CP Joshi ji had dreamed of this stadium, which the current President Shri Vaibhav Gehlot is going to fulfill with the support of the state government and BCCI. It is our endeavor that the environment of sports should be created in the state and the talents here should make their mark in the country and the world. With this purpose, the world’s third largest stadium is being built at Chomp near Jaipur.

The specialty of the Champ Cricket Stadium to be built in Jaipur-
- The International Cricket Stadium will be built on a land of about 100 acres in Jaipur.
- The stadium will have a capacity of 75 thousand spectators.
- In the first phase, the capacity of 45 thousand spectators will be constructed.
- The construction of the first phase will cost about Rs 280 crore.
- The construction work will be done in the stadium at a total cost of Rs 350 crore.
- The work of 30 thousand spectator capacity will be completed in the second phase.
- BCCI to give Rs 100 crore grant to Rajasthan Cricket Association for stadium
