Voting continues for 70 seats for Uttarakhand’s fifth assembly, the fate of 632 candidates will be locked in EVM

Voters started reaching the polling booths in the state since morning. From saints-mahatmas to common people, everyone is taking part in the great festival of democracy. However, polling started at a sluggish pace in the morning. 776 critical, 1050 vulnerable and 173 special surveillance polling stations have been identified in the state. A Special General Observer, a Special Police Observer and a Special Expenditure Accounts Supervisor have been deputed by the Center to oversee the election. Apart from these, 34 general, 13 police and 21 expenditure writer observers are keeping an eye on the election activities. Voter slips have been distributed to all the voters in the state through the office of the District Election Officer.

Nine polling stations in the state are located at a distance of 15-20 km, five polling stations at a distance of 14-15 km, 19 polling stations at a distance of 10 to 14 km and 123 polling stations at a distance of 6 km to 10 km.
