People are suffering due to inflation. The budget of the kitchen has been disturbed due to the increase in the price of food items, domestic cylinders. At the same time, the prices of seasonal vegetables and fruits are also touching the sky. In such a situation, the sellers of vegetables and fruits are cheating with the customers by making cuts. At the time of weighing, the sellers are deceiving the customer by placing stones or other objects instead of 50 and 100 grams. While the full amount is being charged from the customers. Due to the apathy of the Weights & Measures Department, no action is taken against these vendors. The department does not have any record of action taken against the vendors.
Most of the street vendors, carts are operating in Patelnagar, Survey Chowk, Dharampur, Saharanpur Chowk, Karanpur, DL Road, Jogiwala, Nathanpur, Raipur, but the Weights & Measures Department comes out for action as per its convenience. As a result, the customers are suffering. Mohit Bhatia, a resident of Patelnagar, says that vendors selling vegetables, fruits in the streets and streets are mostly using other items instead of small weights. Due to which the customers are falling prey to fraud.
Virendra Bisht, a resident of Premnagar, says that not taking action against vegetable and fruit vendors is doubtful about the working style of the department. Consumers are already facing the brunt of inflation. Any seasonal vegetables costing not less than fifty rupees per kg. From above, the cart operators are reducing the weight and emptying the pockets of the customers. Laxmi Negi, a resident of Shamshergarh, says that even before inflation, the budget of the kitchen has been messed up. Instead of declining, the price of seasonal vegetables is seeing a jump every day. From above, while weighing vegetables, fruit vendors are cheating customers further.
Senior Inspector of Weights & Measures Praveen Negi says that the department takes action against street vendors, cart operators from time to time. If the verification certificate of the weighing fork is not shown, the weighing fork is confiscated along with the challan of the cart, but the cart operators do not reveal their real address, nor do they appear in the court. He said that no separate record of fruit and vegetable vendors has been registered with the department.
The verification of the weighing fork has to be done every year in the weight measurement department. After thoroughly checking the weighing fork on behalf of the department, the departmental stamp is put on it. Along with this, one year verification certificate is also given. Whereas most of the cart operators operating on the roads do not have the verification certificate.
