Uttar Pradesh / Kanpur : What did SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai say, “My wife is beautiful, that’s why I keep doing scandals”

In the election season of UP, every candidate is engaged in wooing the public with his statements. However, while doing so, they sometimes make strange statements. One such video is going viral on the internet in which a SP MLA is referring to the Sundar incident while targeting the UP Chief Minister.

Samajwadi Party MLA from Aryanagar, Kanpur, Amitabh Bajpai, while addressing a public meeting, can be seen saying that my wife is beautiful, so I keep committing scandals. The video is from last 14 February. Bajpai says, “We started making leaders by looking at the color of the clothes. We made the chief minister by the color of the clothes. What else is there in a chief minister, except that he wears only one color of cloth. We also respect.

Amitabh Bajpai further says that ‘Today is the 25th wedding anniversary. We have celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary by reciting the Sundar Kand. People told us why are you getting the recitation of Sundar Kand done. Told us it is the 25th wedding anniversary. Go somewhere, move your wife around. Why are you doing Sunderkand? I said my wife is beautiful, so I keep doing scandals, so I got the sundar scandals done.

The SP MLA further while addressing the crowd says that ‘By the way, your wife is also beautiful. It’s not like this. I have not looked closely but people have made me. My wife is beautiful, you guys must have seen it too. Has gone from house to house. Where it hasn’t gone, it’s about to reach. Look through the eyes of my wife, brother because I keep doing scandals.

After the controversy, the SP MLA said this in clarification

After the video went viral and was criticized, the SP MLA later clarified. He said that ‘there is no such thing as insulting scripture and it is propaganda of BJP people.’ This BJP has taken the contract of religion. I am also a Brahmin of Bisbisua. I joke with my wife, what right does anyone else have to comment on this?’
