Sri Lanka squad for T20 series against India announced, Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara and Ramesh Mendis OUT

The selection committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced an 18-member squad for the three-match T20 International series against India. Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara and Ramesh Mendis, who are on Australia tour, will return to Sri Lanka due to injury, while the rest of the players will reach India. Dasun Shanaka is the captain of the team, while Charith Asalanka is the vice-captain of the team.

The first T20 International match between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Lucknow on 24 February, followed by the second T20 International match on 26 February in Dharamsala. The last T20 International match of the series is to be played on February 27 in Dharamsala itself.

Dasun Shanaka (Captain), Pathum Nisanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka (Vice-Captain), Dinesh Chandimal, Danushka Gunatilaka, Kamil Mishara, Janith Liange, Vahindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmant Chamira, Lahiru Kumar, Shiran Fernando, Shiran Fernando Mahish Teekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Praveen Jayavikrama and Ashiyan Daniels.

If Ashiyan Daniel gets approval from the ministry, then only he will be able to join the team. After the three-match T20 International series, a two-match Test series is also to be played between India and Sri Lanka. The first Test is to be played from March 4 to 8 in Mohali while the second Test is to be played in Bengaluru from March 12 to 16.
