For the first time in history, the promotion of two Hindu officers to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Pakistan Army has created a stir on social media. According to Pakistani media, Major Dr. Kailash Kumar and Major Dr. Anil Kumar have been promoted to lieutenant colonel. His promotion was approved by the Promotion Board of the Pakistan Army.

According to local media, Kailash Kumar of Tarparkar district of Sindh province became the country’s first Major from the Hindu community in 2019. He was born in 1981 and after doing MBBS from Liaquat University joined the Army in 2008 as a Captain. Anil Kumar is one year younger than Kailash Kumar. He is also a resident of Badin in Sindh Prat. He joined the army in 2007. On Thursday, state-run Pakistan Television tweeted about Kailash Kumar’s promotion.

PTV wrote, “Kumar is the first Hindu officer to be promoted to lieutenant colonel.” On this news Kapil Dev, who campaigned for the rights of Hindus in Pakistan, wrote that Kailash Kumar should be promoted to lieutenant colonel. History was made. However, there is no official confirmation about these promotions yet.
