Uttarakhand : Officers engaged in preparations for Chardham Yatra, series of meetings started

District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana on Saturday took a review meeting with the concerned departments regarding the arrangements for Chardham Yatra. In the meeting, arrangements related to roads, police, transport, medical and health, disaster management, sanitation, drinking water, tourism were discussed. In relation to the travel arrangements, all the concerned departments informed about the preparations. The District Magistrate directed to repair the sensitive places on National Highway 58 between Kameda and Badrinath by April 30. Along with this, the engineers of NHIDCL, LNV, BRO were also asked to ensure smooth and safe travel route of their respective areas as well as ensure complete arrangements.

Regarding the cleanliness arrangements on the Yatra Marg, all the municipal officers were instructed to keep the cleanliness system neat and clean as well as beautify the toilets. Regarding health arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was instructed to ensure the deployment of doctors with basic medical equipment and to keep stock of essential medicines in sufficient quantity. At the same time, in the absence of the tourism officer, he directed to stop the show cause notice and pay and issue a show cause notice to the AE Jal Sansthan. Along with this, before the opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham, instructions were given to make the basic arrangements like electricity, drinking water, food grains, housing, communication, etc. During this, high officials of all concerned departments including Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey, ADM Hemant Verma, Joint Magistrate Abhinav Shah, CMO SP Kudiyal were present.
