Uttarakhand : After meeting the former Chief Ministers of BJP, what is CM Dhami discussing?

With more than three weeks between polling and counting, the government has nothing to do if the model code of conduct is in place. Taking advantage of this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is meeting his predecessors these days. Why not do it, after all BJP has many former chief ministers too. Dhami has met Trivendra Singh Rawat, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Tirath Singh Rawat in the last few days. In fact, Dhami is the 11th Chief Minister in the state, out of which eight were formed in BJP governments. BJP remained in power for 11 years and Congress for 10 years, but Congress is far behind BJP in this matter, only three chief ministers have come from its share. Of these, Vijay Bahuguna is now in the BJP, while Narayan Dutt Tiwari is no more. Harish Rawat is in line to become the Chief Minister again. Interestingly, the implications of Dhami’s meetings in the corridors of politics are also being extracted.

Just don’t come to hung assembly

No one is ready to make any guesses about who is going to win in this election. The claims of the BJP and the Congress, as usual, remain the same. In the midst of all this, a concern has started deepening that the situation of a hung assembly may not come. Don’t know the meaning of hung assembly, when no party gets majority and government has to be formed by manipulation. Something similar happened in two of the four governments that came to Uttarakhand so far. In 2007, the BJP got only 35 seats, then the government was formed with the help of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and independents. The result, three chief ministers in five years. In the 2012 elections, the Congress came to power with outside support, two chief ministers were seen. If it does not happen this time, we can hope for political stability. Whoever forms the government, it is only that it should be formed without any outside support.

Keeping an eye on Lok Sabha elections

Trivendra Singh Rawat, who held the office for almost four years, the most of the eight Chief Ministers of the BJP, did not contest the assembly elections, but now the reply given by him about contesting the Lok Sabha elections has given rise to many discussions in the BJP. Trivendra was asked whether he will contest the next Lok Sabha elections, got the answer, will follow the orders of the leadership. Next question, from which seat, Trivendra said, where the house is located, that area comes under Tehri Lok Sabha constituency. Doiwala Assembly Constituency, from where the MLA is from, is under the Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. The ancestral residence is in Pauri Lok Sabha seat. Because of this, there is no problem in contesting from any seat. You understand something, Trivendra’s claim is from three different seats. Of these, the present MPs from Pauri Garhwal and Haridwar seats are also former Chief Ministers, Tirath and Nishank.
