Do not take tension, medical students returned from Ukraine will be able to complete internship in India only

Nearly 10 days have passed since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. In such a situation, the process of returning Indian citizens and students from Ukraine continues. Till now thousands of students have returned to the country. Let us tell you that most of the returning Indians are medical students, who had gone to Ukraine to study MBBS. In such a situation, these students are left with no other option but to come back to India in the midst of the Russo-Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed foreign medical graduates to complete their mandatory 12-month internship in India amid the ongoing withdrawal of Indian medical students from Ukraine. A notice has been issued by the commission, in which it has been said that if students clear the FMGE exam, then they can complete their incomplete internship in India. The Foreign Medical Graduate Exam is also known as NeXT exam. It is an exit exam that medical students need to pass to be able to do post graduation in medicine and be eligible to get a license to practice medicine in India. The commission has also stated in the guidelines issued that “no amount/fee is charged by the medical college from the FMG for allowing them to do internship.” The stipend and other facilities for the FMG will be as per the amount received by the Indian medical graduates.
