Bagchi said on Friday that around 700 Indians were stranded in Sumi. The spokesperson tweeted on Saturday, “Deeply concerned about the Indian students stranded in Sumi, Ukraine. The governments of Russia and Ukraine have strongly urged (India) through various means for an immediate ceasefire, so that our students can get a safe corridor. Stay inside and not take unnecessary risk.’ Bagchi said that the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy are in constant touch with the students.
