A video of a police station in-charge allegedly giving advance wishes to Union Minister Swati Singh’s husband and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state vice-president Dayashankar Singh on becoming a cabinet minister has gone public on social media. An inquiry has been ordered into this matter.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Tripathi said on Sunday that an inquiry has been ordered in the matter of the video of Raj Kumar Singh wishing BJP candidate Dayashankar Singh from Ballia Sadar seat in the district’s in-charge of Dubahar police station becoming public on social media. He said that the Superintendent of Police has directed Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Bhushan Verma to verify the facts and submit the investigation report at the earliest. Necessary action will be taken after the inquiry report. In a video viral on social media, a station in-charge is seen congratulating Dayashankar Singh for becoming a cabinet minister. In the video, the station in-charge is seen saying – “Sir, I am your SHO. For the first time, I am going to escort you, wishing you a cabinet minister. Saying this, the SHO looks very happy in the video. On the other hand Dayashankar Singh also smiles and accepts the Thanedar’s greetings and then his convoy increases. Police station in-charge Raj Kumar Singh said that the video has been misrepresented.
He said that on the midnight of March 2, there was an incident of clash between Samajwadi Party (SP) and BJP supporters in the police station area and in this incident BJP candidate Dayashankar Singh accused SP candidate and former minister Narad Rai of conspiracy to murder. A complaint has been lodged for assault. He said that after this incident, Dayashankar Singh had reached the police station with his supporters, on the other hand, SP supporters were also coming to the police station, so in order to handle the law and order situation, he showed intelligence to Dayashankar Singh and BJP supporters in some way. Removed and controlled the matter. The station in-charge said that the video is from that time. Dayashankar Singh is a BJP candidate from Ballia Sadar seat. His wife Swati Singh is a minister in the state government.
