Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has been granted bail by the Allahabad High Court. However, he will have to remain in jail. Today the court has granted him bail in the case of land grabbing. Two more cases are pending against him and are currently lodged in Sitapur Jail. Former minister and MP Azam Khan is contesting the assembly elections from Rampur seat. He is in jail since February 2020 and faces around 100 criminal cases ranging from buffalo and goat theft to land grabbing and electricity theft.

It was said in the petition that deliberate slow action is being taken in the ongoing cases against him, so that he remains in jail for maximum time.
