Punjab: BSF kills Pakistani infiltrators, destroys drone

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel gunned down a Pakistani “intruder” and shot down a drone in separate incidents along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab. Officials gave this information on Thursday.

BSF officials said on Thursday that a middle-aged man who crossed the border on Wednesday evening died in a forward area of ​​Amritsar sector. A BSF spokesperson said, the soldiers challenged the intruder, but he did not stop and kept on moving forward. Sensing an imminent threat and to prevent further misadventure, BSF personnel opened fire on the intruder in self defence, killing the Pakistani intruder on the spot.

In a separate operation, the Seema Bal also shot down a drone near Haveliyan village in the same sector on Wednesday morning. He said the white quadcopter drone (DJI Phantom 4 model) became ineffective when it was coming “from Pakistan to India”.
