Uttarakhand : Daughters avenged father’s defeat, Anupama Rawat defeated Yatiswaranand and Ritu Khanduri defeated Surendra Singh Negi

BJP is once again going to form the government in Uttarakhand. BJP is leading in 48 seats in Uttarakhand. Congress does not seem to be doing anything special in Uttarakhand for the second consecutive election. Harish Rawat himself had to face electoral defeat. But, Harish Rawat’s daughter Anupama Rawat won the election. At the same time, Ritu Khanduri, daughter of former CM Bhuvan Chand Khanduri, has also won her seat by defeating Congress candidate Surendra Singh Negi.

Anupama Rawat won the election

Harish Rawat’s daughter has won the election from Haridwar Rural seat. He defeated BJP candidate and minister Yatheeswaranand. Along with this, Anupama also avenged the defeat of her father in the last election.

In the 2017 assembly elections, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat had contested from Kichha and Haridwar Rural seats and had to face defeat from both the seats. Harish Rawat was defeated by BJP’s Yatishwaranand by 12,278 votes in Haridwar Rural seat.

Ritu Khanduri won from Kotdwar

Ritu Khanduri, daughter of former CM Bhuvan Chand Khanduri, who entered the fray from Kotdwar seat, has also avenged her father’s defeat. Ritu Khanduri has defeated Congress candidate Surendra Negi.

Let us inform that in the year 2012, former Chief Minister BC Khanduri had contested from Kotdwar assembly constituency. He was the Chief Minister then and he was also responsible for bringing BJP back to power, but Khanduri could neither bring BJP to power nor save his seat. He had to face defeat from Congress candidate Surendra Singh Negi.
