According to the ADR, “19 out of 70 (27%) winning candidates in 2022 have declared criminal cases against themselves. In 2017, out of 70 MLAs, 22 (31%) had declared criminal cases against themselves. It said that 10 winning MLAs (14%) have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.
According to the ADR, eight (17%) out of 47 winning MLAs from BJP, 8 (42%) out of 19 Congress MLAs and one (50%) out of 2 winning MLAs of BSP have registered criminal cases against them in their affidavits. information has been given. According to him, both the independent MLAs (100%) who reached the assembly have also declared criminal cases against themselves. The group said that five (11%) of the BJP, four (21%) of the Congress and an independent MLA have given in their respective affidavits that serious criminal cases have been registered against them. It pointed out that out of 70 newly elected MLAs, 58 (83%) are crorepatis while in 2017 51 (73%) MLAs were crorepatis.
The ADR said that 40 out of 47 (85%) of BJP, 15 out of 19 (79%) of Congress, both (100%) of BSP and one out of two independent (50%) MLAs have earned more than Rs 1 crore. property has been declared.
