15 crore people of UP may get a big setback regarding the free ration scheme. The free ration scheme started during the Corona period may now be closed. There is no official order yet to go ahead with the scheme, which will run till March. In such a situation, it is believed that if no orders are received to carry forward the scheme, then this scheme has been closed. Let us tell you that the Yogi government had extended the free ration scheme till March. After this, whether this scheme will go ahead or not, it will be known only after the formation of the new government, but people getting free ration are still worried about it. If this scheme is not continued after March, then 15 crore people will have to buy ration.
The free ration scheme has proved to be a game changer for the BJP in the UP assembly elections. This scheme was started earlier during the Corona period. Due to the lockdown caused by the Corona wave in 2020, the Modi government of the Center and the Yogi government of the state started the scheme of giving free ration to the poor. The plan was put on hold with the end of the first wave, but after the second wave, the scheme was resumed in May 2021. The government had extended this scheme till Holi on the occasion of Diwali in 2021. The UP assembly elections were believed to be the reason behind taking this plan forward. This scheme was started till March. The echo of this plan was seen a lot in the elections. This plan also proved to be a game changer. The government had decided to give the benefit of this scheme till March. This scheme is going to end in the month of March. The supply department is now waiting for the new order.
In the scheme, every month two items are available
Under this scheme, along with five kg ration per unit to the poor, refined oil, salt and gram were also added free of cost. According to District Supply Officer Abhishek Kuril, 4.14 lakh ration card holders of Rampur are taking advantage of this scheme. 17 lakh people are connected in these ration cards. He told, this scheme was started till the month of March only. As of now, no order has been received regarding this further. Awaiting the next order.
