In the BJP state office, women workers raised slogans in the name of Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri and demanded to make her the next Chief Minister of the state. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether the BJP hands over the command of the state this time to a woman MLA or not? Along with the young face, the churning phase has started in the party high command to make the experienced face the next CM of Uttarakhand. But Ritu Khanduri says that she is only a worker of the party and respects all the decisions of the high command. Is he in the race for chief minister or not? On this, Khanduri clearly said that only the high command takes its decision. But BJP has always surprised the Chief Minister in Uttarakhand, whose living examples are Tirath Singh Rawat, Pushkar Singh Dhami. Ritu Khanduri defeated former Congress cabinet minister Surendra Singh Negi in the 2022 assembly elections from Kotdwar assembly seat. In the assembly elections, Ritu Khanduri was removed from Yamkeshwar by BJP and made a candidate from Kotdwar seat at the last moment. Khanduri got 32103 votes. While former cabinet minister Negi had to be satisfied with 28416 votes.
On one hand, while the BJP is struggling for the CM, the Congress is trying to know the reason for the defeat, in a way Harish Rawat is taking full responsibility, while on the other hand the Congress state president is accepting defeat. The further war in the Congress divided into factions is also not taking its name to stop. After the crushing defeat in the state, the Congress is saying that we may not be able to explain the public properly. But the Congress party is not ready to accept factionalism even after defeat, people are telling factionalism within the party as the reason for the defeat of Congress. And this factionalism will not end yet. Now a demand is being raised in the Congress that one post from the State President, Leader of Opposition should be given to Kumaon and one post should be given to the leader of Garhwal. Whereas this time both the posts were from Garhwal. At the same time, the rar can also increase regarding the state president and leader of opposition. Already the party is famous for Pritam faction and Harish faction, now it will be seen whether the state level leaders in Congress come together on one platform after ending factionalism or else they will be entangled in factionalism and the condition of Congress will be worse in the state. ?
