Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Dispute between university and school administration, lock on Doon campus of Kanya Gurukul
The Kanya Gurukul campus of Gurukul Kangri University, Dehradun has been locked. The school department administration took this step after the university administration did not pay the rent of the Kanya Gurukul campus. The dispute between the two was going on for a long time over the rent.
Assistant Chief Dean of Gurukul Vidyalaya Department, Dr. Navneet Parmar informed that some part of Kanya Gurukul Campus Dehradun and building was given on rent to Gurukul Kangri University on behalf of the Vidyalaya Department. The university administration was conducting many courses for the education of girl students there. In lieu of this, a rent of Rs 1.25 lakh per month was being given to the school department by the university administration. But for the last nine months, the rent was not being paid by the university administration to the school department. With which the building given to Gurukul University has been locked and taken into its possession.
On the other hand, Registrar of Gurukul Kangri University Prof. Sunil Kumar says that some assistance was being given to the school department for the operation of Kanya Gurukul campus Dehradun. On which there is no consensus yet. Further decision will be taken only after consensus is reached. Told that the examinations of girl students are also going on in Kanya Gurukul Dehradun campus.
Future of hundreds of girl students in balance
Due to the dispute between Gurukul Kangri University and School Department administration, the future of hundreds of girl students studying in Kanya Gurukul campus Dehradun is seen to be in balance. The way the school department has taken possession of the girls’ Gurukul campus building given to Gurukul University by locking it for non-payment of rent, it will definitely affect the administrative and academic work of the girl students. BA, MA and MCA courses are being conducted in the Kanya Gurukul campus of the university. In which hundreds of girl students have also taken admission.
There was also a dispute regarding land worship
Some time ago, there was a dispute in Gurukul Kangri University and School Department administration regarding land worship behind the museum. Many officials, including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar of the University, were performing Bhoomi Pujan behind the museum, on which Dr. Navneet Parmar, Assistant Chief Disciplinary of the School Department, took strong objection and stopped the Bhoomi Pujan. Due to which many officials including the Vice Chancellor, Registrar of the University had to leave the land worship midway.
