Congress refutes speculations of resignation of Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi in CWC meeting tomorrow

In the Congress Working Committee meeting to be held on Sunday, party President Sonia Gandhi, former President Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi (Priyanka Gandhi Rahul Gandhi) have denied the speculations of offering to resign. This meeting of the Congress Working Committee is going to be held after the defeat of the Congress in the assembly elections in five states including UP. Congress has categorically denied these reports. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “The news of the offer of resignation allegedly quoting unnamed sources is completely unwarranted and false. Congress has performed very poorly in the assembly elections of five states including UP. It has also lost power in Punjab. Now he is left with the government only in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh on his own. After the defeat in five states, some leaders of the disgruntled G-23 faction of the Congress also met at the house of senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday. At the same time, Congress MP from Kerala Shashi Tharoor has also said that the change in the party cannot be avoided now. He had said that if the party’s fortunes are to change, it will have to undergo massive reshuffle.

Congress’s election campaign in Uttar Pradesh was led by party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Congress has won only two seats out of 403. The party’s vote share has also come down to just 2.3 percent. After the party’s horrific debacle, criticism of the members of the Gandhi family has started to emerge again. The demand for a radical change in the party and change of leadership has started intensifying again.

However, Gandhi family loyalists have taken his side. In an interview with NDTV, one of the party’s troubleshooters, DK Shivakumar, said that the Congress cannot remain united without the Gandhi family. It is impossible to exist without them. At the same time, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has said that organizational weakness is the main reason for the defeat in the assembly elections. At the same time, Abhishek Manu Singhvi has also said that the reorganization of the party is necessary.

“Besides the organizational weakness, there have been many reasons like not being able to cope with the anti-incumbency wave in Punjab and the damage caused by the rival Trinamool Congress in Goa, which have damaged the party in the assembly elections,” Chowdhury said. However, he has denied the need for any change in the party leadership. He said that Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi tried with all their might.
