Chief Justice launched the software, now soon after getting bail, the prisoner will be released from jail

A major step has been taken to speed up the process of release of prisoners. Chief Justice NV Ramana on Thursday launched ‘Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records’ (FASTER) software. The Chief Justice virtually launched this software at 10 am on Thursday. The Chief Justice has thanked Justice Chandrachud, Justice J Khanwilkar and Justice Gupta for this. Let us tell you how the release process of prisoners will be accelerated through ‘Faster’ software…

How fast will the release process be?

In fact, at present, after getting bail, it takes a long time for the copy of the order to reach the jail administration, due to which there is a delay of 2-3 days in the release of prisoners. The copy of the order will be sent in electronic mode in a fast and secure manner through ‘Faster’. Due to which the release of prisoners will not take much time.

Launching the Faster System, the Chief Justice said that in July, a news was read in the newspaper that even after getting bail from the Supreme Court, the prisoner could not be released from jail even after three days, because the copy of the court had not reached the jail. That is why then the thought of launching this system was thought.

Supreme Court ordered in September

Let us tell you that in September last year, the Supreme Court had ordered the launch of an electronic system for speedy delivery of copies of orders. A bench headed by Ramana had suggested to work on the system.

Officers will join by e-mail

The Chief Justice said that 73 nodal officers have been nominated for ‘Faster’. These officers are linked to specific judicial communication networks. He said that these officers would be linked with other judicial officers and jail administration through mail. 1887 email ids of nodal and other officers have been created.
