Adani Group gets Thiruvananthapuram airport, Kerala CM furious

Under the Public Private Partnership, the Adani Group was also given the responsibility of operation, management and development of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Recently, the Adani Group was given the responsibility of operating the popular Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. Thus far, the Adani Group has commanded 6 airports including Mumbai, Mangaluru, Lucknow and Ahmedabad airports.
Sharing the news of the acquisition of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Thursday midnight, the Adani Group said, “By connecting life with the best of travel experiences, we are happy to announce that Thiruvananthapuram Airport is now the gateway to goodness (Gateway to Goodness). Gateway to Goodness). We are privileged to serve and welcome travelers to God’s Own Country with lush green, beautiful beaches and exquisite cuisine.”

It is noteworthy that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has strongly criticized the handing over of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to the Adani Group. He had said that it was not for the development of the facility but to protect the interests of the monopolies. Last year, the Kerala Assembly also unanimously passed a resolution opposing the privatization of the airport.
Let us inform that the Government of India has handed over these airports to the Adani Group for 50 years. Airport Director JS Balhara handed over the symbolic keys of the airport to Chief Airport Officer Adani Jaipur International Limited Vishnu Jha. The company took over the responsibility of the airport at twelve o’clock on Monday morning.
