The issue of anti-Muslim hate speech raised in the Rajya Sabha, the chairman asked to remove the community’s name
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of hate speech being given against Muslims in different parts of the country on 6 April.
He also referred to the recent Hindu Mahapanchayat held in Burari, where Hindutva leader Yeti Narasimhananda had once again asked people to take up arms in violation of bail conditions.
Kharge along with Sushmita Dev, Luizinho Joaquim Flairio and Mohd Nadimul Haque of Trinamool Congress served notices under Rule 267 on the issue of rising prices and hate speeches.
However, when the proceedings of the House began, Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu said that he did not allow these issues to be raised under Rule 267.
Kharge insisted that he would like to say only one sentence and Naidu allowed him to speak.
Kharge said, ‘Sir, I have given notice under Rule 267 regarding increasing cases of hate speeches in the country and also harassment of journalists especially journalists of Hindustan Gazette, Newslaundry, The Quint, Article 14 etc. Notice has been given regarding harassment. This is going on and Swami (Yati Narasimhanand) is giving provocative speeches from Haridwar to Delhi.
Kharge also referred to the Hindu Mahapanchayat and alleged that on Sunday (April 3) a swami said that all Muslims should be killed.
To this Naidu instructed, ‘It will not go on record. The name of any community will not go on record.
“Even if he has said meaningless words, then we should not say his words. Raising it again in the House and then discussing who has said what. This is not going to solve the problem. I have not allowed it.’
“No one should give hate speech against any community, whether it is minority or majority,” he said. Names of communities should not be taken and no one should give speeches against anyone.
Let us tell you that Yati Narasimhanand has been in regular controversy due to his anti-Muslim speeches and activities from his address at Dasna temple in Ghaziabad to Haridwar Dharma Sansad.
After Haridwar Dharma Sansad, a case was registered against him after calling people to take up arms against Muslims. In a video shared by Hindutva supporters, he can be seen making public threats against Muslims.
The latest development is from Delhi’s Burari, where a Hindu Mahapanchayat was organized without the police’s approval and a case was registered after the addresses of Narasimhanand and others.
North West Delhi DCP Usha Rangnani had issued a statement on the matter saying, “Some speakers including the priest of Dasna temple Yati Narasimhanand Saraswati, Sudarshan News chief editor Suresh Chavhanke have promoted feelings of enmity, enmity and animosity between the two communities.” Giving statements.
Several journalists involved in the Burari Hindu Mahapanchayat were also allegedly assaulted and harassed, following IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt to any person), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 354 (dignity of woman). A case has been registered under breach of law.
