Forest wealth worth lakhs has been burnt to ashes due to the fire in the forests. At the same time, despite all the claims, the forest department is not able to extinguish the forest fire. The fire is so fierce that the Varunavat mountain near the district headquarters and around the NIM is so fierce that the fire can come towards the settlement.

The forests of Varunavat and NIM have come under fire late on Sunday evening. The fire took a formidable form and on seeing the precious forest wealth of lakhs was burnt to ashes. At the same time, there was a fire on Varunavat mountain till late night. The fire became so fierce that the fire started coming towards the settlement. Due to this there was panic among the people. Forest department and nearby people are busy extinguishing the fire.

The Forest Department is claiming that all efforts are being made to extinguish the forest fire, but all the departmental arrangements on the ground are proving to be unsuccessful. Due to this, the problem of food and water has arisen in front of wild animals along with life. Along with this, people are facing problems in breathing due to the pollution of the environment. Lokendra Bisht (State Convenor Ganga Vichar Manch) has said while accusing the Forest Department. Forest department officials have become the main spectators by setting forest estates on fire. For the past several days, the forest wealth of Uttarkashi has been set on fire. Due to which a lot of damage has been done to the forest wealth.
