KVS took a big decision, admission will not be done in Kendriya Vidyalaya from the quota of MPs and DMs

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has taken a big decision on Thursday regarding admission in schools. Now till further orders, admission has been banned in Kendriya Vidyalayas under special provisions including MPs and District Magistrate quota. In such a situation, the admissions under the quota of MPs, District Magistrates etc. will not be done till further orders. According to news agency ANI, a circular issued by the Hyderabad division cited the instructions of the KVS headquarters and said that no admission should be made “under special provisions” until further orders.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi has welcomed the decision of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to ban admission in KVS schools under special provisions including MP and DM quota. The former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar had raised the issue in the recently concluded budget session of Parliament and demanded abolition of such quota in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Talking to ANI, Sushil Modi said that the move of KVS to stop MPs, District Magistrate admission quota in Kendriya Vidyalayas is commendable. He said, “About 15,000 students of SC, ST, OBC will be benefitted every year by this decision. This quota needs to be abolished permanently.”
He said, “In KV admission, neither reservation rules are followed in such enrollment nor is the basis of admission eligibility. So 30,000 seats will increase in a jiffy on the basis of merit for reservation and enrollment.”
