Uttarakhand / Pantnagar : Dr. AK Shukla became the 27th Vice Chancellor of GB Pant Agricultural University

Dr. AK Shukla, who is holding the responsibility of Registrar of Govind Ballabh Pant Agricultural and Technological University, has been appointed as the 27th Vice Chancellor of the University.

Orders to this effect have been issued by Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha on behalf of Governor and Chancellor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmeet Singh from Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The tenure of the current Vice Chancellor Dr. Tej Pratap has ended on Friday. Dr. Shukla will discharge the post of Vice-Chancellor under section (11)7 till the appointment of regular Vice-Chancellor as provided under section (11)1 of Uttar Pradesh Agricultural and Technological University Act, 1950. As soon as Dr. Shukla was nominated as the Vice-Chancellor, all the teachers, dean, directors and non-teaching staff of the University including Dr. AK Karnataka, Vice Chancellor of the University have congratulated him.

Dr. Shukla has a better academic record
Pantnagar. Born on March 1, 1958, Dr. AK Shukla is the Registrar and Professor of Statistics in the College of Science and Humanities. He got his bachelor’s and master’s degree in first class from Agra University. He did his MPhil (Statistics – Specialty and First Division) from Punjab University, Chandigarh and DPhil from Garhwal University, Uttarakhand. After this, he did the work of teaching UG and PG courses in Pantnagar University for 40 years.

He has been the Head of Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science for 13 years, Dean of CBSH for three and a half years, Director of Patwadangar for one year and has been holding the responsibility of Registrar for one year. Dr. Shukla was selected as outstanding teacher by ICAR in 2003-04 and 2014-15. He has published 39 research papers in national and international journals and has also published a book on agricultural statistics in Hindi as a co-author. He is also a member of Professional Committees and a Life Member of the Agricultural Statistical Society of India. conversation

Congress protested
Uttarakhand Congress spokesperson Dr. Ganesh Upadhyay said in a statement issued to the press that the charge of Vice-Chancellor should have been given to the senior professor. He alleged that the tenure of the present Vice Chancellor has been disappointing. Due to this, Pantnagar University has lagged behind in every field.
