West Bengal : Shatrughan Sinha created history by defeating BJP, TMC’s big victory for the first time in Asansol seat

TMC candidate Shatrughan Sinha has created history in the by-election to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. He has registered a historic victory by a margin of more than two lakh votes. This is the first time that TMC has won the Asansol parliamentary seat. Earlier in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Babul Supriyo had won from this seat on a BJP ticket. Earlier this seat was occupied by CPI(M). Agnimitra Paul of BJP has got a big defeat.

On the victory, Shatrughan Sinha said that the victory in this seat goes to Mamta ji’s head and the credit for the victory goes to the people here, the leaders and workers of Trinamool Congress here. Along with this, as a worker of the party to some extent, I also accepted the challenge and contested this seat. I came here considering the instructions of Mamata Banerjee and the order of the people of Asansol as an ordinance. Excited by his victory, Shatrughan Sinha said that the certificate has not been received yet, let it be given, after that I will debate on this victory. He said that this is a historic victory. Because for the first time Trinamool Congress has won this seat and Mamta ji deserves this victory. The reason is not known, but our party should have already won this seat. This seat should have already come in Mamta ji’s bag. But for the first time ever, today for the first time a way has been opened.
