Uttarakhand / Haldwani : Oh God Inflation, the contractor is not ready to put the tender for the bridge
The prices of bars, cement and steel guards are skyrocketing. Due to the impact of inflation, no contractor is ready to tender at the old rate. Even after inviting the tender again from NH, no contractor, company reached to put the tender. Now NH is talking about inviting tender for the third time.
NH had invited tenders for Steel Guard Bridge at Kalsia Nallah. A contractor got this tender. After the completion of the tender process, the NH asked the contractor to start the work after seven months but the contractor refused to do the work citing inflation. After this, NH canceled the contract of the old contractor and invited tenders, but no contractor was ready to work in the old rate. No one has put up tenders.
After this, NH again invited tenders. These tenders were opened on Monday. There was no tender lying in the tender box. A contractor said on condition of anonymity that the prices of steel, bars, cement have doubled. It is impossible to do this work in the old rate. That’s why they are not putting tenders. On the other hand, AE MB Thapa of NH said that tenders will be invited for the third time. If the tender does not come this time, a letter will be sent to the headquarters to fix the new rates of the bridge.
