Sensational disclosure of Ravi Shastri, said- people who are burning in India wanted me to fail

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has advised Robert Key, who has been appointed as the new director of cricket of the England and Wales Cricket Board, saying that this former England opener should be treated like a duke ball. Need to develop ‘thick skin’ like he did to face ‘burn people’. Shastri was the chief of India’s coaching staff from 2014 to 2021 except for one year. During this one year, Anil Kumble was appointed as the head coach. In an interview to Britain’s ‘The Guardian’ newspaper, Shastri said that there was a ‘group of jealous people’ in India who always wanted them to fail.
Like Shastri, Robert too has a long standing commentator and does not have a coaching degree. Shastri said, “I also did not have any coaching degree. level one? level two? And in a country like India, there are always people jealous of you or a group of people who want you to fail. I have thick skin (not paying attention to people’s words), thicker than the Duke ball you use.
The British newspaper quoted this former Indian head coach as saying, “You have to resort to it. When Rob (Robert Key) starts working he will learn to develop it because each day there will be comments about your work. I am glad that he has got a lot of captaincy experience while playing with Kent because communication with the players is supreme.
Based on his experience of working with the Indian team, Shastri believes that almost all national teams operate in the same way in the cricket world around the world. Emphasizing on the team culture, Shastri said that it was an important part of the Indian team during two consecutive series wins in Australia.
“It shows how we want to play: being aggressive and not giving any chances to the opposition, the top level of fitness, building a bunch of fast bowlers who can take 20 wickets overseas, and that’s your attitude,” he said. Especially when you play against Australia. I told the boys that if you are called a slanderer, you return three: two in our language and one in their language.
Shastri feels that Robert Key needs to discuss various issues with former Test captain Joe Root to understand how everything is done. Shastri also believes that Ben Stokes would be the ideal choice as the new captain of England. “He doesn’t need it but the spirit of captaincy can make him even better than the best player he is right now. The relationship with the captain is important – as soon as there is a rift, things start getting worse.
Shastri said, “But things will be fine because I saw last year that England have enough talent and skill to compete. There is no doubt in my mind about this. It’s all about mentality.
