Mamta Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray and KCR responded to PM Modi on the prices of petrol and diesel

Petrol and diesel prices have increased rapidly in the country. Due to which the Modi government is facing criticism. But now, referring to this issue, PM Modi has fiercely targeted the non-BJP ruled states. In which he said that some states did not cut tax, that is why people are facing more trouble there. Now the answer has been given by the Chief Ministers of the states whose name was taken by PM Modi. Know 10 big things related to this whole matter –
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, while replying to PM Modi, said that perhaps the Prime Minister took the name of Jaipur to give a message to BJP ruled Bhopal. Gehlot said that the prices of petrol and diesel in Bhopal are higher than in Jaipur. Along with this, he said that the Prime Minister talked about the VAT of the states but did not give information about the excise duty of the central government.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, while responding to PM Modi’s allegation of not reducing taxes, said, “Maharashtra is the highest tax paying state, but the central government is discriminating against Maharashtra on the economic front. GST arrears of Rs 26500 crore have not been received from the Center yet. The central government should treat all the states equally.
Apart from Maharashtra, PM Modi also mentioned West Bengal. On this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself came forward and replied. He said that the PM said during the meeting that the states should reduce the prices of petrol and diesel. But how can states do this? You raised the prices. Have you seen your earnings from oil prices? Mamta further said that, we had said that the revenue of the Center and the states should be equal. But he was not ready for it. They charge 75% tax.
Telangana CM KCR, while replying to PM Modi, said that Telangana has not increased any tax on oil since 2014. The central government has no right to ask states to reduce taxes. Since TRS came to power, no tax has been increased on oil, hence the question of reducing it does not arise.
Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta said on this matter that, PM held a meeting regarding health today but he talked less on health and more on petrol-diesel. Due to which the meeting became political. He also took the name of Jharkhand, so I think the meeting was to clarify on the increase in the price of petrol and diesel. The direction and condition of petrol-diesel and LPG is completely determined by the central government.
PM Modi’s statement on petrol and diesel was also answered by Congress. Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala released the figures and said that, during the Congress era, the excise duty on petrol was ₹ 9.48 per liter and on diesel ₹ 3.56 per liter… but during the Modi government, the excise duty on petrol was ₹ 27.90 per liter and ₹21.80 per liter on diesel. Accordingly, the government should immediately reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 18.
DMK MP TKS Elangovan said on PM Modi’s statement that PM Modi only mentioned opposition states to reduce tax on oil. He could not say that Gujarat and Karnataka should also reduce taxes. The amount of tax that the Government of India is collecting is three times more than the tax of these states.
Haryana Congress leader Deepender Hooda said that Haryana has the highest VAT on petrol and diesel. Oil prices are increasing due to increase in international market prices, but when wheat prices increase in the international market, why farmers do not get more MSP? The central government is running away from its work on the prices of petrol and diesel.
During the meeting with the Chief Ministers, PM Modi had said that, in order to reduce the burden of the rising price of petrol and diesel, the Central Government had reduced the excise duty last November. States were also urged to reduce their taxes. Some states have reduced the tax here, but some states did not give its benefits to their people.
During this, PM Modi also named those states, which did not cut any tax. In which Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Kerala were named. The PM also mentioned the prices of oil in these states and said that now these states can do the work of giving relief to the people.
