Putin ready for cancer surgery, will temporarily hand over power to former KGB chief Nikolai Petrushev
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been forced to relinquish control of the war with Ukraine for days as he prepares for cancer surgery. Putin will reportedly nominate hardline former FSB chief Nikolai Petrushev, who will typically act at knifepoint, to temporarily control the invasion. A Kremlin insider has claimed.
Patrushev, 70, the current secretary of Russia’s Security Council, is still seen as a key architect of war strategy. A report in the Daily Mail said that Patrushev was the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv was full of neo-Nazis. Popular Telegram channel General SVR reports that its source is a well-placed person in the Kremlin.
“I don’t know how long (Putin may be disabled after surgery)… I think it will be for a short period of time,” the insider was quoted as saying. Putin was unlikely to agree to a transfer of power, but Putin has agreed to hand over power to another to control Russia and the war effort. Putin is to be operated immediately and he understands that Patrushev will probably have real control of the country for two or three days. The Daily Mail report said such a move would be surprising as the power under the Russian constitution should be entirely with the prime minister.
General SVR told that Putin has stomach cancer. He also got Parkinson’s 18 months ago. He has reportedly delayed cancer surgery, which will no longer take place on May 9 in Red Square to commemorate the Victory Day of Russia’s World War II victory, the Daily Mail reports. SVR claimed the news came amid speculation that Putin would launch an all-out war across Ukraine. Will order mass mobilization of men of military age, which can be quite politically risky. SVR claimed that the surgery was scheduled for the second week of April, but it got delayed.
The outlet said Putin was recommended to undergo surgery, the date of which is being discussed and agreed upon. It has symptoms of schizophrenia, including hallucinations and mania. The Daily Mail reported that the Kremlin has previously always strongly denied Putin has medical problems and portrays that he is in strong health, even though he has been mysteriously absent on several occasions in recent years. A video detailing General SVR said an unidentified former high-ranking Kremlin military man said Putin had discussed that he would undergo medical procedures.
