Rape of 14-year-old girl and her 6-month-old sister in Delhi; 40-year-old accused caught, one absconding

A 40-year-old man was arrested after an encounter on Saturday for allegedly raping a six-month-old girl in North West Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area. Giving information about this, the police said that the friend of the arrested accused, who is accused of raping the girl’s sister, is currently absconding. But efforts are on to nab him.
Police have identified the arrested person as Kamal Malhotra alias Chinu, resident of Jahangirpuri and the absconding accused as Raj alias Raju. The complainant mother informed the police that she has two daughters – one of whom is 14 years old and is intellectually disabled, and the other daughter is six months old. On returning home from work on Friday evening, the woman found Chinu and Raju allegedly raping her daughters in the neighbourhood.
Referring to the complaint, the police said that on seeing the woman, they fled from the spot. The girls were taken to the hospital for treatment. Thereafter, an FIR was registered and investigation was initiated. On Saturday, Chinu was found in a park near Samaypur Badli metro station. The police asked him to surrender but he did not agree, on the contrary, he took out a pistol and opened fire on them.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav said that in retaliatory firing, the accused got shot in the leg, after which he was apprehended. The DCP said that both the accused were intoxicated during the alleged crime. Police said that a country-made pistol, a live cartridge and a blank cartridge have been recovered from the arrested accused. While efforts are on to nab the second accused Raju.
