UP Police’s big disclosure in Gorakhnath temple attack, wire of accused linked to ISIS

Murtaza, accused of attacking the security personnel of Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, was in contact with ISIS terrorist and propaganda activist Mehndi Masood. UP’s ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar gave this information. Prashant Kumar was sharing facts related to the investigation by the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) in connection with the Gorakhnath temple case on Sunday. During this, he told that the intention of the accused was to snatch the weapon and conduct a big operation.

ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said, “The Anti-Terrorism Squad analyzed various devices and social media handles possessed by the accused during their investigation. After investigation of accused Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi by UP ATS, the police officer said, Data analysis was carried out on several of his e-devices, his various social media accounts such as Gmail, Twitter, Facebook and e-wallets.”

The investigation of this case also revealed that the accused through his bank accounts sent around 8.5 lakh Indian rupees to support ISIS terrorist activities through organizations related to ISIS supporters in various countries in Europe and America. He watched videos related to various weapons – AK 47, M4 carbines and other missile technology – through the Internet.

Sharing the criminal history of the accused, the ADG said, “He was arrested by Bengaluru Police in 2014 in connection with ISIS propaganda worker Mehdi Masroor Biswas. He was influenced by terrorist organisations, radical propagandists and promoters of ISIS-terrorism. ” On remand of seven days from Tuesday morning, the ATS questioned the accused in detail.

The accused was shifted to Lucknow after he was given a seven-day custodial remand for further questioning by a special ATS court in the state capital. The accused was first lodged in Gorakhpur jail, then after the police custody ended on April 16, the accused was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
