Uttarakhand : Devotees will travel to Chardham by risking their lives, danger from danger zone on All Weather Road

Only one day is left for the commencement of Char Dham Yatra, but the treatment construction agencies have not been able to find the treatment of the danger zone created at various places on All Weather Road. This can make travel fraught with risk. 67 Danger Zones have been identified on the Chardham Yatra route, out of which only some improvement works have been done. The government had claimed to fix the danger zone before the journey.
Twenty Six Danger Zones on the Srinagar-Badrinath Road
After the widening of the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway, the journey may have become smoother, but due to the widening, new landslide zones have been created at many places. National Highways Department Srinagar has identified 26 such areas. At present, an estimate is being prepared for their treatment.
Chardham Yatra has started. But the condition of the roads has not improved yet. Danger zones have been created on the roads at many places. Not all danger zones were cleared before the journey. Now even if there is work during the journey, then the passengers may be inconvenienced. The department should have got the work done before the trip. HH Executive Engineer Balram Mishra said that there was a landslide area in Farasu, it has been rectified.
There is only some work left in this. Chamdhar new landslide area is emerging, a plan will be made for its treatment. Kodiyal, Parrot Ghati, Moolagaon, Shiva Murti, near Devprayag, Chamdhar, Jawadi bye pass etc. places where treatment is proposed to be done. The government had claimed to fill all the danger zones before the Chardham Yatra. But till now it does not seem to be complete.
New Landslide Zone on Badrinath Road
Now only six days are left for the opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham, but the danger zones have not been repaired yet. Work is still going on between Sonla near Karnprayag, while a place called Chadha between Chada, Birhi and Peepal Koti remains in danger. The road from Joshimath to Badrinath and from Peka bridge to Tayya bridge is in danger of being closed due to landslides on the road for about 1.5 km.
Danger Zone on Kedarnath Highway remains intact
There are more than a dozen danger zones on Kedarnath Highway, which are yet to be treated. After the construction of the all-weather road, there is a danger of boulders falling from the hill at many places, which can become a problem during the journey in the rainy season. The status of Sirobgad remains the same. A new danger zone has been formed between Khankra and Narkota.
At the same time, there are danger zones in Rudraprayag Nagar from Hanuman temple to Lonvi office, where stones keep falling from the hill continuously. There is a danger of stone falls and landslides at places like Nail, Badasu, Chandika Dhar, Khat, Narayankoti, Munkatiya etc. Government claims of treatment of these danger zones proved to be aerial. Right now the road is dilapidated in many places.
New Tehri: Instructions were given to remove the debris
All-weather construction work is going on on Chamba-Dharasu highway. ADM Ramji Sharan said that during the all-weather road construction work on Rishikesh-Chamba and Rishikesh-Devprayag highways of Chardham Yatra route in the district, all the identified danger zones have been removed. While all-weather road construction work is going on on Chamba-Dharasu highway. The agencies have been instructed to clear the debris in the landslide-affected areas.
BRO, PWD and NHIDCL have been directed to clear all the danger zones on the Chardham Yatra route. Where crush barriers or protective measures are needed, immediate work is being done. It is being ensured that the pilgrims do not face any kind of problem.
