Uttarakhand : Intensive verification campaign started in view of Chardham Yatra, verification of 67 thousand in ten days, more than two and a half thousand suspects were found, ten arrested

The 10-day intensive verification campaign in the state ended on Saturday. During this, the police did physical verification of more than 67 thousand people. In these, more than two and a half thousand suspects were found. Of the suspects, 10 were arrested while the rest were challaned under the Police Act.

DGP Ashok Kumar said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, an intensive verification campaign was started in view of the Chardham Yatra. Till Saturday, all the district police conducted verification drives in their respective areas. During this physical verification of 67,858 people was done. 2526 suspicious persons were also found out of which 10 were arrested.

The DGP said that many of the suspects were challaned under the Police Act. Many people were detained under various preventive acts. The DGP informed that only the special verification drive has ended. The police have been directed to continue the routine verification drive.
