Liam Livingstone hits longest six of IPL 2022; Shami was surprised to see the ball reached outside the stadium, a six of 117 meters

Liam Livingstone has hit the longest six of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday. Liam Livingstone targeted Mohammed Shami in the 16th over of the match and hit three sixes in consecutive balls. He also sent the first ball of this over outside the stadium, which has also become the longest six of the ongoing season. Despite Sai Sudarshan’s unbeaten 65 off 50 balls, Gujarat’s team could only manage 143 runs for eight wickets. Punjab registered victory for the loss of two wickets in 16 overs.
Liam Livingstone then scored an unbeaten 30 off 10 balls to help the team win the game as well as improve the net run rate. After this win, Punjab team reached fifth in the table with five wins in 10 matches. This is Gujarat’s second defeat in 10 matches and the team is still on top.

Livingstone said after the match, “I didn’t think for a while that I was going to bat, it was nice to go out and play some shots. I thought Shikhar played beautifully initially, and Bhanu supported in that partnership. It was a big win for us and we needed it, we have played some bad cricket in the last few matches and it is good to turn it around.
