Supreme Court refuses to interfere in Jharkhand Panchayat elections, dismisses petition, elections will be held on time

The Supreme Court has refused to interfere in the Jharkhand Panchayat elections. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding OBC reservation in Panchayat elections. During the hearing of the petition, the court has refused to interfere in the light of its earlier order. Let us inform that the process has been started in Jharkhand regarding Panchayat elections. The candidates have started the campaigning work after filing their nominations.

Dismissing the petition filed for OBC reservation in Jharkhand Panchayat elections, the Supreme Court said that since the process of Panchayat elections has started in the state. Therefore, the court will not interfere in this for the time being. The court further said that the process of OBC reservation can be adopted by conducting a triple test for future elections.

Let us tell you that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of MP Chandra Prakash Chaudhary. Three-tier panchayat elections are being conducted in Jharkhand in four phases, but reservation has not been given to OBCs. He had filed a petition only regarding OBC reservation.

Let us inform that the government had made it clear in the house that at present it is not possible to conduct elections by conducting triple test, because the development work of the village is being affected due to lack of elections. Then he gave the example of Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Bengal and said that elections were held there without triple test. He had said that a separate committee would be formed for this.

However, the market is hot about the matter at the square-intersections. Responsible people are refraining from speaking anything on this matter. Here, the administrative officers are fully engaged in the elections from their level. At the same time, the nomination for the third phase is over.
